Camp DaySpring, our beloved summer camp on the scenic banks of the Manatee River in Parrish, Florida, has announced a major new hire that signals both continuity and growth for the program. In early December 2025, DaySpring Episcopal Camp and Conference Center and the Episcopal Diocese of Southwest Florida officially announced that Caitlin Martin has accepted the position of Director of Camp and Outdoors and will join the DaySpring team in early 2026.
Camp DaySpring has long been known as a place where young people can grow spiritually, make lasting friendships, and experience a broad range of outdoor activities in a Christ centered environment. Through programs that include canoeing and kayaking on the Manatee River, participation in ropes courses, arts and crafts, team building games, worship, and music, campers of all ages are invited to explore their faith and build confidence over the course of multiple summer sessions.
The announcement on Facebook celebrated Caitlin’s appointment with great enthusiasm, noting that the community is delighted to welcome her into this leadership role. DaySpring described her as an experienced and passionate camp professional who brings a deep understanding of outdoor programming and youth engagement.
Caitlin Martin’s background includes serving most recently as Assistant Director of the YMCA Camp of Maine, where she developed her expertise in camp operations, leadership mentoring, and camper support. Prior to that, she spent three years as Assistant Director of Paradise Point Episcopal Camp in the Diocese of Idaho, giving her valuable experience in Episcopal camping programs.
In making the announcement, Brad Thompson, Executive Director of DaySpring, expressed his excitement about Caitlin’s arrival and highlighted her strong background with established camp programs. He emphasized her impressive high adventure and waterfront leadership experience as qualities that align perfectly with the mission of Camp DaySpring.
For her part, Caitlin shared that she is thrilled to return to Episcopal camping and is eager to help build on the current momentum at DaySpring. She noted that she has watched with admiration how the camp has grown and developed and looks forward to joining the team and supporting staff in creating meaningful experiences for campers.
